non lontano dallo shopping più sofsticato e la via notturna più
sfrenata della capital thailandese. Un’oasi di tranquillità e luce
con fnestre altissime e un uso generoso del bianco che si carica
di intensità drammatica accanto a pezzi d’antiquariato orientale e
pavimenti lucenti in legno pregiato.
Il banco della reception è un capolavoro di arte minimalista e
il personale sembra materializzarsi solo quando serve: discreti,
efcienti e sorridenti in divise Comme des Garçons. L’audace
tappeto rosso nella hall sembra voler sfdare le sfumature bianche
e beige e i solenni legni scuri. Come in tutti gli alberghi e resort
Como Shambala l’atmosfera, gli altissimi livelli di servizio discreto e
la cucina, sono impareggiabili.
Le171 cameree suite sono spaziose conmobili lineari, sofsticati
e dettagli ricercati: antichità orientali, mobiletti in rosso lacca
cinese, tappeti e sofà lussuosi, lampade Artemide, cuscini e tende
in seta thailandese. Nei bagni in tutte le camera e suite si fa uso di
mosaici, pietra calcare e prodotti COMO Shambala.
Due i ristoranti. Glow con un menu di pasti leggeri e succhi
freschi, in linea con la flosofa olistica COMO. E Nahm aperto dallo
chef australiano David Thompson dopo il successo del ristorante
omonimolondinese, ediventatolanuovaMeccadellagastronomia
d’avanguardia nella capital thailandese. Sul menu prelibatezze
regionali, e sono i camerieri e le cameriere a guidare i commensali
in un viaggio di sapori e aromi alla scoperta di specialità come il
Geng Gati Bpuu Tarlae, un curry di granchio con latte di cocco,
curcuma e lime. E’di rigore prenotare in anticipo.

Australian Michelin-starred chef David Thompson, a sister of his
Thai restaurant in London of the same name, and since opening
has been making a name for itself in town for its inspirational
cuisine. The food is from many regions of Thailand and the
restaurant staf is expert in helping diners explore Thompson’s
dishes, like the signature Geng Gati Bpuu Tarlae, a coconut and
turmeric curry of mud crab with southern limes, many of which
are new to theThai capital. It is essential to book ahead.
